As a Home Health Aide with VNA of NWI, you will be an indispensable part of our patient care team, working directly with individuals in their residences to assist with daily living activities, personal care, and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Assist clients with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and adaptive equipment as needed.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks that are essential to the client's health and safety, such as laundry, meal preparation, and tidying living areas.
  • Monitor and report changes in client's physical condition, behavior, or emotional state to supervising nurses or case managers.
  • Assist with medication reminders as instructed by the care plan.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities and provide companionship.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized client environment.
  • Document services provided accurately and promptly according to VNA of NWI policies.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, their families, and the VNA care team.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide (HHA) training program or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Proof of automobile insurance.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to care.
  • Ability to follow detailed care plans and instructions.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six (6) months to one (1) year of experience as a Home Health Aide or CNA in a home care setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
