Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky (TMMK) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team in Georgetown, Kentucky. As an Accountant at TMMK, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of our manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general ledger accounting activities, including journal entry preparation, account analysis, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Lead and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis between actual results, budgets, and forecasts, providing insightful explanations and recommendations to management.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working collaboratively with operational teams.
- Ensure strong internal controls are maintained and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and explanations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, supply chain, and engineering, to provide financial guidance and support for operational decisions.
- Reconcile various balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Stay current with accounting pronouncements and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in a corporate accounting role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data modeling).
- Experience with large ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or actively pursuing certification.
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
