Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on all textile machinery, including overlock machines, sewing machines, cutting equipment, and other specialized textile production apparatus.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues with speed and accuracy.
- Execute repairs, adjustments, and calibrations to ensure machinery operates at peak performance and adheres to specifications.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and diagrams for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve machine-related problems, minimizing production downtime.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures, promoting a safe working environment.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as required.
- Provide technical support and training to machine operators on proper operation and basic maintenance.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancements in machine operation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Textile Machine Technician or in a similar industrial maintenance role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Familiarity with various hand and power tools common in machine repair.
- Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Solid commitment to safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or vocational certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
- Direct experience with Merrow machines or similar industrial sewing/textile equipment.
- Knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems for machine control.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
