Job Description
Cataldo Ambulance Service is seeking highly motivated and experienced Paramedics to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. As a Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing advanced life support to patients in a variety of settings, including emergency response calls, inter-facility transfers, and event coverage. You will work as part of a team to assess patients, administer medications, perform advanced medical procedures, and transport patients safely and efficiently to hospitals or other healthcare facilities. This position requires excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced and high-stress environments. You must be able to maintain composure during critical incidents and demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients and their families. This role involves both physical and mental challenges, requiring strength, stamina, and resilience. The successful candidate will be proficient in all aspects of pre-hospital emergency care and possess a commitment to continuing education and professional development. Key Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls and provide advanced life support to patients.
- Assess patients' conditions and administer appropriate medical care.
- Perform advanced medical procedures, including intubation, IV insertion, and medication administration.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
- Transport patients safely and efficiently to hospitals or other healthcare facilities.
- Work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues, supervisors, and patients.
- Maintain and clean ambulance equipment and supplies.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Required Skills
- Current Paramedic license in Massachusetts
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Advanced knowledge of emergency medical procedures and techniques
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in high-stress situations
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Paramedicine or related field
- Experience working as a Paramedic in a busy urban environment
- Experience with emergency vehicle operation
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience with trauma patients
