Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of shoe and boot repairs, including resoling, reheeling, stitching, patching, and stretching.
- Inspect footwear to determine the best course of action for repair and advise customers on available options.
- Clean, polish, and condition various types of leather and synthetic footwear materials.
- Execute custom alterations and modifications to shoes as per customer requests.
- Manage and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Maintain an organized and clean workspace, adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Order and manage inventory of repair materials, including soles, heels, adhesives, and leather.
- Provide excellent customer service, including clear communication regarding repair timelines and costs.
- Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and repair techniques to continuously improve service quality.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in shoe and leather repair techniques.
- Proficiency with various cobbling tools and machinery (e.g., stitching machines, grinders, finishers).
- Strong knowledge of different footwear materials (leather, suede, synthetics, rubber) and their appropriate care.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
