Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial buses on designated routes within Epe and surrounding areas, strictly adhering to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, promptly reporting any mechanical issues, defects, or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
- Maintain accurate and detailed trip logs, mileage records, fuel consumption reports, and passenger manifests as required.
- Ensure the cleanliness and presentability of the bus, both inside and out, to provide a comfortable environment for passengers.
- Provide excellent customer service to all passengers, assisting with boarding and alighting as needed, and addressing inquiries courteously.
- Adhere strictly to scheduled routes and timelines, ensuring punctuality and efficient service delivery.
- Handle emergency situations professionally and effectively, following established company protocols and ensuring passenger safety.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations and licensing requirements.
- Participate actively in mandatory safety meetings, training programs, and performance reviews to continuously improve driving skills and safety practices.
Required Skills
- Valid Class E (Commercial Passenger Vehicle) driver's license or equivalent Nigerian commercial driving license.
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable commercial bus driving experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Epe and broader Lagos State road networks, traffic regulations, and local routes.
- Proven strong defensive driving skills and a consistently clean driving record.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with passengers and colleagues.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting.
- High level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
- Strong understanding of road safety principles and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/WAEC) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience driving various types of commercial buses (e.g., mini-buses, 14-seater, 18-seater).
- Certification in First Aid and basic vehicle repair.
- Prior customer service training or experience in a customer-facing role.
