Job Description
Red Deer Public Schools is seeking dedicated and passionate K-12 Teachers to join our dynamic team for the upcoming academic year. As a K-12 Teacher, you will be instrumental in shaping the minds of the next generation, delivering high-quality, engaging instruction aligned with Alberta’s curriculum. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging, curriculum-aligned lesson plans for diverse K-12 learners.
- Deliver dynamic classroom instruction using a variety of teaching methods and technologies.
- Assess student learning through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral observations.
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and well-being.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff to enhance educational programs.
- Actively participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives.
- Supervise students during non-instructional times, including breaks, lunch, and field trips.
Required Skills
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility for certification.
- Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging K-12 curriculum.
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to foster a positive learning environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in integrating educational technology into teaching practices.
- Commitment to student-centered learning and differentiated instruction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education or a related field.
- Experience teaching across multiple grade levels or subject areas within K-12.
