In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components across a variety of settings, including residential homes, commercial businesses, and industrial facilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical power, lighting, control systems, and associated electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using appropriate testing devices and methodologies.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine wiring layouts and ensure accurate installations.
  • Connect electrical power to residential, commercial, and industrial equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components to extend their lifespan and prevent breakdowns.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and local safety regulations.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Install conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables, maintaining organized and secure wiring.
  • Lead and mentor junior electricians or apprentices when applicable, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and other trades on project status and technical issues.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and consistently.

Required Skills

  • Journeyman Electrician certification/Red Seal endorsement in New Brunswick.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience as a licensed Electrician.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and local electrical regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for complex electrical systems.
  • Ability to work safely with various electrical tools and testing equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and client interaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial and industrial electrical systems, in addition to residential.
  • Certification in specific electrical safety training (e.g., Arc Flash, confined space).
  • Experience with smart home technologies or building automation systems.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience leading a small team or mentoring apprentices on site.
