Key Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze vessel designs, including hull forms, structural arrangements, stability, and hydrodynamics.
- Prepare detailed technical specifications, drawings, and calculations in accordance with project requirements and classification rules.
- Conduct complex engineering analyses, including finite element analysis (FEA), hydrostatics, and stability assessments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, structural) to integrate various systems into vessel designs.
- Provide technical support and expertise during the construction, outfitting, and testing phases of vessels.
- Ensure designs comply with national and international maritime regulations (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL, Classification Society Rules).
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and problem-solving sessions.
- Innovate and identify opportunities for design improvements and cost-effective solutions.
- Document design decisions, processes, and analyses accurately and comprehensively.
- Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Naval Architect in shipbuilding or marine design.
- Proficiency with naval architecture software (e.g., AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, Rhinoceros, Maxsurf, NAPA, Tribon).
- Strong understanding of marine engineering principles, vessel stability, and structural design.
- Knowledge of international maritime regulations and classification society rules.

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (French is a significant asset).
