Prosegur is seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and dedicated Industrial Firefighter to join our expert fire safety team in Alcorcón, Spain. In this critical role, you will be primarily responsible for providing top-tier fire prevention, suppression, and emergency response services within various industrial and commercial environments managed by Prosegur. This position is vital to maintaining the highest safety standards for our clients’ facilities, diligently protecting personnel, property, and critical operations from potential fire hazards and other emergencies. Your daily activities will be diverse and impactful, involving not only swift and effective response to emergency incidents but also conducting meticulous routine inspections of fire safety equipment and systems, maintaining operational readiness, participating in rigorous and continuous training exercises, and proactively educating facility staff on essential fire safety protocols and emergency evacuation procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and effectively to fire alarms, hazardous material incidents, and other emergency situations within industrial and commercial facilities.
- Operate and maintain a wide range of firefighting apparatus, emergency vehicles, specialized equipment, and tools.
- Conduct thorough and regular inspections of fire protection systems, including sprinklers, alarms, extinguishers, and emergency exits, ensuring full functionality and compliance.
- Implement proactive fire prevention strategies, conduct comprehensive safety drills, and participate in risk assessments.
- Provide advanced first aid and basic life support (BLS) as needed during medical emergencies.
- Participate actively in continuous training and professional development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Educate facility personnel on critical fire safety practices, emergency evacuation procedures, and the proper use of fire suppression equipment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all incidents, inspections, training activities, and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate effectively with internal security teams, client personnel, and external emergency services.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Firefighter, preferably within an industrial, airport, or municipal setting.
- Valid professional certifications in firefighting (e.g., Bombero Profesional, NFPA 1001, or equivalent recognized qualification in Spain).
- Strong foundational knowledge of fire suppression techniques, hazardous materials identification and handling, and emergency medical response protocols.
- Exceptional physical fitness, mental resilience, and the ability to pass rigorous physical aptitude and medical tests.
- Proficiency in operating various firefighting equipment, including hoses, pumps, breathing apparatus, and emergency vehicles.
- Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) is essential for effective communication and record-keeping.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound decisions in high-stress situations.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced certifications in specific areas such as HAZMAT operations, confined space rescue, technical rescue, or emergency medical technician (EMT).
- Previous experience in a private industrial firefighting or corporate security context.
- In-depth knowledge of local fire codes and regulations relevant to the Community of Madrid.
- Proficiency in English language (written and spoken) is a plus for international clients or documentation.
- Valid Class C (or higher) driving license with C.A.P. (Certificado de Aptitud Profesional) for driving emergency vehicles.
