Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine 2D patterns and 3D digital models for footwear components using specialized CAD/CAM software.
- Collaborate with footwear designers to interpret sketches and design specifications into technical drawings and digital prototypes.
- Prepare and optimize files for CAM processes, including cutting, milling, and 3D printing of molds and components.
- Perform precise measurements, grading, and material adjustments within CAD systems to ensure accurate and consistent sizing across product lines.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to CAD/CAM software, machinery, and production processes.
- Maintain and organize digital libraries of patterns, components, and design elements for efficient reuse and version control.
- Participate in fitting sessions and prototype reviews, providing technical insights and implementing necessary design modifications.
- Stay abreast of new CAD/CAM technologies, software updates, and manufacturing techniques relevant to the footwear industry.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software specifically used in the footwear industry (e.g., Romans CAD, Delcam Crispin, Rhino 3D, SolidWorks).
- Strong understanding of footwear construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with CAM software and preparing files for CNC machines, laser cutters, or 3D printers.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and design specifications accurately.
- Excellent spatial reasoning and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Fluency in Spanish (verbal and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Vocational Training (FP Grado Superior) in Footwear Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CAD/CAM Technician in the footwear industry.
- Experience with 3D scanning and reverse engineering for footwear components.
- Knowledge of material properties and their application in footwear manufacturing.
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems for design data management.
- Proficiency in English.
