Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and experienced Primary School Teacher to join our dedicated team at Nyahururu Elite Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons across various subjects, fostering a positive classroom environment, and contributing to the overall academic and social development of our students. This role demands a commitment to student-centered learning, innovative teaching methodologies, and a deep understanding of the Kenyan curriculum (CBC). You will be instrumental in inspiring young minds, cultivating their curiosity, and guiding them through foundational learning experiences. Beyond classroom instruction, you will actively participate in school events, collaborate with colleagues, and communicate effectively with parents to ensure a cohesive learning journey for every child. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in accordance with the Kenyan national curriculum (CBC).
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing strategies to address individual learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and behavioral observations, ensuring compliance with school policies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school administration to support student welfare and academic achievement.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and school-wide events.
  • Integrate technology effectively into daily teaching practices to enhance learning experiences.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and disciplined learning environment that promotes self-esteem and character development.
  • Develop and implement co-curricular activities that enrich student experience and holistic growth.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree or Diploma in Education from a recognized institution.
  • TSC (Teachers Service Commission) registration certificate.
  • Proven experience as a Primary School Teacher, preferably with CBC experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Proficiency in using modern teaching aids and educational technology.
  • Strong understanding of child development and learning theories.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili, both spoken and written.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-graduate diploma or Master's degree in Education.
  • Experience in an international school setting or with diverse curricula.
  • Proficiency in an additional language beyond English and Kiswahili.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead extracurricular activities or school clubs.
  • Certification in specific educational technologies or pedagogical methodologies.
