Key Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls and non-emergency service requests from the public.
- Conduct patrols, both foot and vehicle, to deter crime and ensure public safety.
- Investigate crimes, collect evidence, interview witnesses, and make arrests.
- Maintain public order during events, protests, and daily operations.
- Enforce traffic laws and investigate motor vehicle accidents.
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records of incidents and activities.
- Provide assistance and support to victims of crime.
- Engage in community policing initiatives to build trust and cooperation with residents.
- Testify in court as required, presenting evidence and providing clear accounts of events.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs.
Required Skills
- South African Citizenship
- Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate or equivalent
- No criminal record or pending cases
- Valid South African driver's license (or willingness to obtain one during training)
- Physically and mentally fit to perform duties of a Police Officer
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in challenging situations
- Strong sense of integrity, discipline, and ethical conduct
- Basic computer literacy
Preferred Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Law, Criminology, or a related field
- Fluency in isiZulu or other local languages prevalent in KwaZulu-Natal
- Previous experience in security services, military, or community work
- First aid certification
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
