Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily operational aspects of the guesthouse, ensuring seamless guest experiences.
- Develop and implement strategic business plans to enhance profitability and market presence.
- Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and revenue management.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team, fostering a culture of exceptional service and teamwork.
- Design and execute marketing and sales initiatives to attract and retain guests, including online reputation management.
- Maintain high standards of property cleanliness, maintenance, and guest safety.
- Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Cultivate strong relationships with local suppliers, tourism boards, and community stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hospitality regulations.
- Oversee inventory management and procurement of supplies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in hospitality management, preferably within a guesthouse or resort setting.
- Strong business acumen and financial management skills (budgeting, P&L).
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in property management systems (PMS) and online travel agency (OTA) platforms.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of isiZulu is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in marketing and social media management for a hospitality business.
- Previous experience as an owner-operator or General Manager of a similar establishment.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license.
