  • Potentially lead workshops or demonstrations for guests interested in local craft traditions.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and material inventory efficiently.
  • Ensure all crafted items meet high standards of quality, durability, and safety.
  • Contribute to the hotel's cultural marketing initiatives by showcasing the stories behind the crafts.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in design principles, color theory, and material properties.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate concepts into tangible artistic creations.
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability in working with different materials and challenges.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic understanding of project management and material sourcing.
  • Commitment to preserving and promoting local cultural heritage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a hospitality, tourism, or cultural institution setting.
  • Knowledge of traditional Eastern Cape craft techniques and cultural significance.
  • Ability to teach or demonstrate craft skills to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in basic sketching and digital design tools (e.g., for mock-ups).
