Key Responsibilities
- Conduct visible patrols to deter crime, maintain public order, and ensure community safety within the Lebowakgomo area.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and critical incidents, providing immediate assistance and appropriate intervention.
- Investigate crimes, collect evidence, interview witnesses, and compile detailed reports for legal proceedings.
- Enforce traffic laws, manage accident scenes, and promote road safety.
- Engage with community members, build positive relationships, and participate in crime prevention initiatives.
- Arrest and detain suspects in accordance with legal procedures, ensuring their rights are respected.
- Provide support and assistance to victims of crime, offering guidance and resources.
- Prepare comprehensive dockets and present evidence in court when required.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, discipline, and ethical conduct at all times.
Required Skills
- South African Citizenship
- Valid Grade 12 Certificate (Matric)
- No criminal record or pending cases
- Proficient in English (read, write, speak)
- Physically and mentally fit (must pass medical and fitness assessments)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in challenging environments
- High level of integrity, honesty, and ethical conduct
- Valid driver's license (or willingness to obtain one)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in security, community service, or military
- Proficiency in additional official South African languages, particularly those prevalent in Limpopo
- Tertiary qualification in Police Science, Law, Criminology, or a related field
- Computer literacy (MS Office suite)
