Job Description
Mkhonto Construction is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Site Manager to oversee our various projects in Volksrust, Mpumalanga. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional who can effectively manage all on-site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while adhering to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities from inception to completion.
- Ensure strict adherence to project plans, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, monitoring progress against timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel effectively.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with standards.
- Implement and enforce health and safety protocols, conducting daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Identify potential risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for project stakeholders.
- Manage on-site resources, including materials, equipment, and labor.
- Facilitate effective communication among all project participants, including clients, architects, engineers, and trades.
- Oversee the resolution of any on-site issues or conflicts efficiently.
- Maintain accurate site records, including drawings, permits, and inspection reports.
- Ensure proper maintenance of site equipment and machinery.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Construction Site Manager or similar role
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6)
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality assurance
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- National Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- SACPCMP (South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions) registration
- First Aid and advanced safety certifications
