Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a diverse fleet of agricultural machinery and implements.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Conduct field service calls to farms for emergency repairs and scheduled maintenance, requiring travel within the region.
- Overhaul and rebuild engines, transmissions, and other major components.
- Utilize computer-aided diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Maintain accurate service records, documenting all repairs, parts used, and time spent.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and environmental regulations in all work procedures.
- Provide technical advice and support to clients on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Keep abreast of the latest advancements in agricultural technology and equipment.
- Collaborate with parts department to ensure timely availability of necessary components.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Farm Equipment Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of agricultural machinery, including tractors, combines, and implements.
- Expertise in hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic software and tools.
- Valid driver's license (Code B or higher, preferably with a PDP).
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness to perform duties, including lifting heavy components and working in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant Trade Test Certificate (e.g., Diesel Mechanic, Agricultural Mechanic).
