Job Description

Are you meticulously organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about making a real impact in your community? Afrika Tikkun, a leading non-profit organisation, is seeking a dedicated and efficient Data Entry Clerk to join our local office team in Ratanda, Gauteng. This full-time, on-site role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and accessibility of vital information that underpins our community development programmes.

As a Data Entry Clerk, you will be the cornerstone of our information management, responsible for accurately inputting, verifying, and maintaining a diverse range of data, from beneficiary records and programme statistics to financial transactions and administrative documentation. Your precision and commitment to accuracy will ensure that our teams have reliable data to track progress, report to stakeholders, and make informed decisions that directly benefit the Ratanda community. You will work closely with programme coordinators and administrative staff, providing essential support to ensure smooth operations and effective programme delivery. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately input and update a variety of data into databases and spreadsheets, including beneficiary information, programme statistics, and financial records.
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents, correcting discrepancies, and ensuring data integrity.
  • Maintain organised filing systems, both digital and physical, for easy retrieval of information.
  • Generate reports and summaries of data as required by programme managers and administrative staff.
  • Assist with data cleaning and validation processes to ensure the highest level of accuracy.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to clarify information and resolve data-related issues.
  • Perform routine administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the local office.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience with data entry, ideally in a similar administrative role.
  • Excellent typing speed and accuracy (minimum 40 WPM).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and data security.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or certificate in administration, information technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., Salesforce, Access).
  • Previous experience working in a non-profit organisation or community development setting.
  • Knowledge of local community dynamics in Ratanda.
  • Ability to communicate in local languages (e.g., IsiZulu, Sesotho) in addition to English.
