Job Description

Rebafana Construction is seeking a dedicated and physically capable Construction Worker to join our dynamic team in Mohlakeng, Gauteng. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for building to contribute to significant projects that shape our community. As a Construction Worker, you will be an integral part of our on-site team, performing a variety of tasks crucial to the successful completion of our construction projects. You will be responsible for preparing construction sites, operating and maintaining tools and equipment, assisting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring a safe and clean work environment. We are looking for someone who is reliable, attentive to detail, and committed to upholding our company’s high standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare construction sites by cleaning and clearing debris, setting up safety barriers, and erecting temporary structures.
  • Load, unload, and transport building materials, tools, and equipment to and from work areas.
  • Operate hand and power tools, such as drills, hammers, saws, levels, and measuring tapes, under supervision.
  • Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, masons, plumbers, electricians) with various tasks.
  • Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials.
  • Perform general labour duties, including digging trenches, shoveling, raking, and compacting earth.
  • Follow all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including waste disposal and tool maintenance.
  • Assist with the erection and dismantling of scaffolding, formwork, and other temporary structures.
  • Identify and report any potential hazards or unsafe conditions on the job site.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
  • Basic understanding of construction procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Proficiency in operating common hand and power tools.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Basic communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience (6-12 months) in a construction or manual labour role.
  • Valid driver's license (Code B or C1).
  • First Aid certification.
  • Construction-related safety training certification (e.g., SHE Representative).
