We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanic to join our growing team at Lenasia Auto Services. As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of services on various makes and models of vehicles, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics using specialized equipment and software to identify mechanical and electrical faults.
- Conduct routine maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and tire rotations.
- Execute repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering and suspension components, and other vehicle systems.
- Inspect and test vehicle components for wear, damage, or malfunction, recommending necessary repairs or replacements.
- Repair or replace faulty parts, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to manufacturer specifications.
- Install accessories and components as required, ensuring proper integration with existing systems.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all services performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle status, repair progress, and potential future maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to all workshop safety procedures and environmental regulations.
- Continuously update technical knowledge and skills to keep pace with evolving automotive technologies and repair methods.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Motor Mechanic in a professional workshop setting.
- Recognized trade qualification (e.g., NQF Level 4 Motor Mechanic or equivalent).
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing petrol and diesel engines, braking systems, suspension, and electrical faults.
- Solid understanding of automotive computer systems and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid South African driving license (Code B/08 or higher).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced N-levels or a relevant higher certificate in Automotive Engineering.
- Experience with specific vehicle brands or advanced diagnostic software.
- ASE or other relevant international certifications.
- Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicle systems.
