Job Description
Chiawelo Primary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic educational team. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in preparing and organizing classroom materials and resources.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students requiring additional academic assistance.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, playtime, and school excursions.
- Help maintain classroom discipline and manage student behaviour under the guidance of the teacher.
- Support students with special educational needs, adapting activities as necessary.
- Assist with the setup and tidying of learning stations and general classroom organization.
- Listen to students read and assist with literacy and numeracy development activities.
- Provide general administrative support to the teacher, such as photocopying and record-keeping.
- Communicate effectively with teachers regarding student progress and concerns.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
Required Skills

- Ability to speak local South African languages in addition to English.
