Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and vigilant Professional Security Guard (PSIRA Grade C) to join our esteemed team in Wonderboom, Gauteng. As a Security Guard with Fidelity Services Group, you will be a crucial frontline defender, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our clients’ premises, assets, and personnel. Your daily duties will range from conducting regular patrols, monitoring surveillance equipment, controlling access points, and diligently reporting any unusual occurrences. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both on foot and via vehicle, to deter and detect signs of intrusion or unauthorized activity.
- Monitor and operate CCTV, alarm systems, and other surveillance equipment to identify and respond to potential threats.
- Control access to premises, including verifying credentials of visitors, employees, and vehicles, and maintaining accurate logs.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, following established protocols.
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other documentation as required.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Provide excellent customer service and professional assistance to clients, staff, and visitors while maintaining a security-focused demeanor.
- Conduct thorough searches of individuals and vehicles when authorized and necessary.
- Liaise with law enforcement and emergency services during critical incidents.
- Perform basic first aid and emergency response when required.
- Safeguard company and client assets against theft, damage, or misuse.
Required Skills
- Valid PSIRA Grade C registration and certificate
- Clear criminal record (fingerprint verification will be conducted)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong observational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to operate CCTV and other security monitoring equipment
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and data entry
- Sound knowledge of security procedures and protocols
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid PSIRA Grade B or A registration
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a security guard role
- Valid driver's license with PDP (Public Driver's Permit)
- Proficiency in an additional South African language
- Firearm competency certificate (if applicable to specific site requirements)
- First Aid Level 1 certification or higher
- Experience in corporate, retail, or industrial security environments
