Job Description
Kransfontein Guesthouse is seeking an experienced and passionate Hospitality Manager to lead our dedicated team. This pivotal role requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in guesthouse or hotel management, an unwavering commitment to guest satisfaction, and exceptional leadership abilities. As the Hospitality Manager, you will be the heart of our operations, overseeing all aspects of the guesthouse from front office to housekeeping, food and beverage (where applicable), and guest relations. Your primary goal will be to ensure the seamless operation of the guesthouse, maintaining our high standards of service and guest experience, and driving operational efficiency and profitability. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for all guests, resolving any issues promptly and professionally, and inspiring your team to deliver outstanding service consistently. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily guesthouse operations, ensuring all departments run smoothly and efficiently.
- Manage and motivate a small team, including reception, housekeeping, and maintenance staff, providing training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by addressing inquiries, handling complaints, and implementing feedback mechanisms.
- Manage reservations, check-ins, and check-outs, optimizing occupancy rates and revenue.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and facility presentation.
- Monitor and control operational budgets, expenses, and inventory, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Implement and uphold all health, safety, and security policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers and service providers.
- Prepare regular reports on guesthouse performance, occupancy, and guest feedback.
- Actively market and promote the guesthouse to attract new guests and retain existing ones.
- Manage and maintain online booking platforms and the guesthouse's online presence.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in guesthouse or hotel management.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal, in English.
- Proficiency in guesthouse management software (e.g., PMS systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and cost control.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
