Key Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Prepare and process financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts monthly.
- Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns accurately and on time.
- Maintain organized and comprehensive financial records and files.
- Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Process payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, clients, and internal teams regarding financial matters.
- Identify and implement process improvements for increased efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Support external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role (minimum 3 years).
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks, Xero).
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets) and financial report generation.
- Data entry skills along with a strong knack for numbers and analytical thinking.
- High degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a hybrid environment.
