Key Responsibilities
- Perform general construction tasks including site preparation, excavation, and foundational work.
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other construction materials for walls, foundations, and other structures.
- Mix and pour concrete, mortar, and plaster, ensuring correct consistency and application.
- Erect scaffolding, temporary structures, and operate various hand and power tools safely.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate execution of work.
- Assist with the installation of structural components, roofing, and finishing materials.
- Maintain a clean and organised worksite, ensuring adherence to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other trades to ensure smooth project progression.
- Conduct regular inspections of work areas to identify and rectify potential hazards.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of construction materials and equipment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in general construction, bricklaying, and concrete work.
- Proficiency in operating various hand and power tools common in construction.
- Strong understanding of construction safety protocols and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and construction plans.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Valid driver's license (Code B or C1).
