Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Teacher to join our dynamic team at Gansbaai Academia. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who is eager to embrace and implement a hybrid learning model, blending traditional classroom instruction with modern digital tools and online resources. As a Hybrid Learning Specialist, you will be instrumental in designing and delivering engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles, both in-person and through integrated digital platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons using a hybrid teaching approach, incorporating both in-person and digital learning components.
- Utilize various educational technologies and learning management systems (LMS) to facilitate blended learning experiences, including online assignments, virtual discussions, and digital assessments.
- Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of all learners.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment that encourages active participation and intellectual curiosity.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine curriculum, share best practices, and integrate interdisciplinary projects.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student performance, progress, and areas for improvement, utilizing both traditional and digital communication channels.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, especially those focused on hybrid learning, educational technology, and subject-specific advancements.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events, enriching the overall student experience and school community.
- Ensure compliance with all school policies, safety regulations, and educational standards set by the Western Cape Education Department.
Required Skills
- Relevant Bachelor's Degree in Education or a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
- South African Council for Educators (SACE) registration (or eligibility for registration)
- Proven experience in classroom management and effective teaching strategies
- Strong proficiency in educational technology, including LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Google Classroom) and online collaboration tools
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and innovation in teaching
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with hybrid or blended learning models
- Specialization in subjects relevant to the South African CAPS curriculum (e.g., Mathematics, Science, English Home Language)
- Additional certifications in educational technology or online teaching
