Job Description

Are you an impeccably organized, highly customer-focused individual with an unwavering passion for service excellence? FNB De Doorns is actively seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bank Teller to enrich our dynamic branch team. As a Bank Teller, you will be the welcoming face of FNB, a critical point of contact for our valued customers, playing a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service experiences and ensuring the seamless operation of our daily banking activities. This is a unique hybrid role, designed to offer the flexibility of balancing essential in-branch customer service with the potential for certain administrative tasks to be performed remotely, aligning with our modern and innovative work model. Your primary responsibilities will include accurately and efficiently processing a variety of transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, cheque cashing, and payments. You will meticulously handle cash, assist customers with their diverse enquiries, provide basic account information, and proactively identify opportunities to promote FNB’s comprehensive range of products and services that align with customer needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, cheque cashing, and various payments.
  • Manage and balance cash drawer daily, adhering strictly to cash handling procedures, security protocols, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist customers with a broad range of inquiries, provide detailed account information, and offer basic product knowledge, escalating complex issues to appropriate departments.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell or up-sell FNB products and services that effectively meet customer needs and financial objectives.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and strictly adhere to all banking regulations, internal policies, and operational procedures.
  • Cultivate and nurture positive, lasting relationships with customers, fostering trust and loyalty through exceptional service.
  • Actively contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, working alongside colleagues to achieve branch goals and operational targets.

Required Skills

  • Excellent cash handling and numerical accuracy skills with a proven track record.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Afrikaans is highly advantageous for the region.
  • Exceptional level of integrity, trustworthiness, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including the MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple tasks concurrently, and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Bank Teller or in a similar financial services role.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of FNB products, services, and operational procedures.
  • Experience with banking software systems and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
