Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of residential and commercial properties to identify pest infestations, entry points, and potential harborage areas.
- Develop and implement integrated pest management (IPM) plans tailored to specific client needs and pest issues.
- Apply pest control treatments safely and effectively, adhering strictly to all industry regulations and company safety protocols.
- Educate clients on pest prevention measures, proper sanitation, and other best practices to minimize future infestations.
- Complete detailed service reports, including observations, treatments applied, and recommendations.
- Manage and maintain company equipment, vehicles, and supplies in excellent working condition.
- Schedule and confirm appointments with clients, ensuring efficient routing and timely service delivery.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pest control techniques, products, and industry best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client concerns and building strong, trusting relationships.
- Collaborate with team members on complex cases and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pest Control Technician.
- Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in identifying common pests found in the Western Cape region (e.g., rodents, insects, termites).
- Strong understanding of pesticide application techniques and safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
- Ability to work independently and manage a schedule effectively.
- Physical fitness to perform duties such as lifting, climbing, bending, and working in various environments.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant NQF Level 3 or higher qualification in Pest Control or related field.
- Proof of registration with the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD) as a Pest Control Operator.
- Experience with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.
- Familiarity with local health and safety regulations pertinent to pest control.
- Proficiency in Afrikaans in addition to English.
