Your expertise will be crucial in minimizing downtime, enhancing operational performance, and implementing cutting-edge electrical technologies to support our continuous improvement objectives. This role offers the flexibility of remote work while keeping you intimately connected to the challenging and rewarding world of large-scale mining operations.

  • Collaborate with on-site maintenance, operations, and project teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of electrical systems.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant South African National Standards (SANS), mining regulations, and company safety protocols.
  • Manage and maintain electrical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and maintenance procedures.
  • Participate in remote project meetings, providing electrical engineering input and technical guidance.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of remote monitoring and predictive maintenance strategies for electrical assets.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of high voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) electrical distribution systems.
  • Experience with motor control centers (MCCs), variable speed drives (VSDs), and soft starters.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional remote communication and collaboration abilities using various digital tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa).
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Project management experience in an industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with mining-specific safety regulations and operational environments.
  • Experience with energy management systems and renewable energy integration.
