We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Remote Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team, supporting our critical mining operations in the Northern Cape from a distance. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the transportation of raw materials, finished products, equipment, and supplies to and from mining sites.
- Manage inventory levels and track goods in transit, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and transport companies to negotiate terms, schedule deliveries, and resolve issues.
- Prepare and process all necessary documentation, including shipping manifests, customs forms, and permits, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
- Monitor and optimize logistical costs without compromising service quality or operational efficiency.
- Implement and maintain logistics procedures, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Utilize logistics software and systems to track shipments, manage inventory, and generate reports.
- Identify and address potential supply chain disruptions, developing contingency plans as needed.
- Provide regular updates and reports on logistics performance to management.
- Collaborate with procurement, operations, and finance departments to ensure seamless integration of logistics activities.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sector.
- Proven proficiency in logistics software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of transport regulations, customs procedures, and international trade practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
