Mediclinic Southern Africa is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our innovative telehealth team as a Remote Telehealth Nurse. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive virtual patient assessments and triage patient concerns effectively.
- Provide expert health education, guidance, and support on a variety of medical conditions and preventive care.
- Monitor and evaluate patient conditions remotely, identifying changes and intervening appropriately.
- Accurately document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Collaborate virtually with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Adhere strictly to all telehealth protocols, ethical guidelines, and legal requirements.
- Empower patients with self-management strategies and foster proactive health behaviours.
- Respond to patient inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally via digital communication channels.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay abreast of telehealth best practices and medical advancements.
Required Skills
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Minimum of 3 years of post-basic nursing experience in a clinical setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly and empathetically.
- Proficiency in using digital communication tools, telehealth platforms, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Exceptional patient-centred care approach with a strong commitment to service excellence.
- High level of computer literacy and comfort with new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in telehealth, remote patient monitoring, or a similar virtual care setting.
- Post-basic qualification in a relevant nursing specialty (e.g., Primary Healthcare, Emergency Care, Chronic Disease Management).
- Bilingual proficiency (English and Afrikaans or Nama) to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
- Advanced digital literacy and experience with virtual collaboration tools.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
