Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Remote Online Teacher to join our dynamic team, specializing in Foundation Phase education (Grades R-3). Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging online lessons for Foundation Phase (Grades R-3) students, adhering to the Impaq curriculum.
- Utilize various digital tools and interactive whiteboards to facilitate dynamic and participatory virtual classes.
- Assess student progress regularly through assignments, quizzes, and projects, providing constructive feedback.
- Monitor and track student attendance and engagement in online learning activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Provide individualized support and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and educational plans.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and academic support staff to enhance the online learning experience.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and team meetings.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive virtual classroom environment.
Required Skills
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- SACE registration (South African Council for Educators).
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in the Foundation Phase.
- Proven proficiency in using online learning platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a conducive home office setup.
- Ability to create engaging and interactive online content.
- Strong understanding of child development and pedagogical approaches for young learners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with distance learning or online teaching methodologies.
- Proficiency in an additional South African language.
