Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic, customer-focused, and reliable Petrol Attendant to join our team at Engen Hofmeyr Service Station. This role is crucial to our daily operations, serving as the first point of contact for our valued customers. As a Petrol Attendant, you will be the face of Engen, responsible for providing efficient fuel dispensing services, processing transactions accurately, and ensuring a pleasant and safe experience for everyone visiting our station. While the core duties of a Petrol Attendant are inherently on-site, requiring a strong physical presence to serve our valued customers and maintain station standards, this role is designated as Hybrid. This structure acknowledges that certain administrative tasks, such as shift reporting, inventory checks (if conducted digitally), participation in online training modules, or virtual team meetings for operational updates, may occasionally be performed remotely or off-site, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and flexibility where appropriate. The majority of your time will be spent on the forecourt, delivering exceptional service, but we embrace flexibility for supporting functions to allow for continuous learning and administrative precision.
Your day will involve interacting with a diverse range of customers, assisting them with fuel selection, offering essential vehicle checks like oil and water levels, and promoting our convenience store products and services. Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, friendly, and efficient fuel service.
- Dispense fuel accurately and safely, adhering to all company and safety regulations.
- Process cash and card transactions precisely using the point-of-sale system.
- Perform basic vehicle checks (e.g., oil, water, tyre pressure) upon customer request.
- Promote and up-sell convenience store items, car wash services, and Engen loyalty programs.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the forecourt, pumps, and surrounding areas.
- Assist with stock rotation and merchandising of forecourt products.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in required training sessions and team meetings, which may occasionally be conducted virtually.
- Complete daily administrative tasks, including shift reports and transaction reconciliation.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately to management.
Required Skills
