Job Description
We are seeking a versatile and dedicated General Handyman to join the Greytown Country Club team. This pivotal role involves performing a wide array of maintenance and repair tasks across our expansive property, ensuring all facilities are in excellent working order and safe for use. From routine preventative maintenance to addressing urgent repair needs, the successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance tasks including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- Conduct routine inspections of club facilities, grounds, and equipment to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
- Repair and replace damaged fixtures, furniture, and equipment as needed.
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of equipment for events and functions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Respond to maintenance requests from staff and management in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and submit requisitions for replenishment.
- Assist with groundskeeping and landscaping tasks when required, including irrigation system checks.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in general maintenance, repair, and facility upkeep.
- Proficiency in basic plumbing (e.g., fixing leaks, unclogging drains).
- Basic electrical knowledge (e.g., changing light fixtures, minor wiring repairs).
- Skilled in carpentry (e.g., minor repairs to doors, windows, furniture).
- Competency in painting and plastering.
- Ability to operate various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid South African driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade certificate or vocational training.
- Previous experience working in a hospitality, club, or estate environment.
