Job Description
Seriti Resources is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Electrical Technician to join our innovative support team, primarily operating from a remote base with strategic on-site engagements. This unique role is designed for a proactive problem-solver who can leverage advanced diagnostic tools and digital platforms to maintain the electrical integrity and operational efficiency of our critical mine and power plant infrastructure across Mpumalanga. While your primary workstation will be remote, you will be an integral part of our engineering and maintenance teams, providing crucial technical support, fault finding, and strategic planning from a distance.
In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the continuous operation of our complex electrical systems, including high-voltage networks, motor control centres (MCCs), variable speed drives (VSDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. Your expertise will be vital in remotely analysing data, troubleshooting issues, and guiding on-site personnel through intricate repairs or preventative maintenance tasks. We are looking for someone who thrives in a technology-driven environment, capable of interpreting technical drawings, providing clear virtual instructions, and contributing to the development of remote monitoring solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your electrical engineering prowess in a modern, agile work model, enhancing system reliability and uptime without the daily commute to a physical site. Occasional travel to various mine or power plant sites within Mpumalanga will be required for complex fault rectification, commissioning of new equipment, or conducting specialized training, ensuring you remain connected to the operational realities you support.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform remote diagnostics and fault-finding on complex electrical systems, including HV/MV/LV networks, MCCs, VSDs, PLCs, and SCADA systems.

- Develop, review, and maintain electrical schematics, documentation, and maintenance procedures digitally.
- Implement and optimize remote monitoring systems and predictive maintenance strategies to enhance asset reliability.
- Analyse operational data from SCADA and other control systems to identify potential issues and recommend proactive solutions.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of electrical system modifications and upgrades, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Ensure all work performed, both remotely and on-site, adheres strictly to safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct occasional on-site visits to mines or power plants for complex troubleshooting, commissioning new equipment, audits, or specialized training.
- Participate in virtual meetings, planning sessions, and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and deliver remote training modules for on-site personnel on new technologies and best practices.

- Strong understanding of high voltage (HV), medium voltage (MV), and low voltage (LV) reticulation systems.
- Demonstrated ability in remote diagnostics and troubleshooting using digital tools and platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for virtual collaboration and technical reporting.
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Valid Code B (08) driver's license for occasional site visits.
