The City of Matlosana Local Municipality is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Remote Traffic Management Analyst, with a strong focus on the principles and practices of a Traffic Officer, to join our dedicated public safety team. This unique remote role is designed to leverage advanced analytical skills and a deep understanding of traffic regulations to enhance our municipal traffic management strategies from a centralized, off-site position. While traditional on-site enforcement duties are outside the scope of this specific remote role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our field officers and contributing to overall traffic safety and efficiency through data analysis, policy development, and remote monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of traffic data, including accident reports, traffic flow patterns, and congestion points, to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and propose evidence-based recommendations for traffic policy adjustments, new regulations, and infrastructure enhancements.
- Monitor traffic cameras and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) remotely to detect incidents, congestion, and potential hazards, relaying critical information to on-site teams as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of remote-based public awareness campaigns focused on traffic safety, new regulations, and road usage best practices.
- Prepare detailed reports on traffic trends, project outcomes, and policy effectiveness for municipal leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate remotely with field Traffic Officers, urban planners, and other municipal departments to ensure integrated and effective traffic management solutions.
- Research best practices and emerging technologies in traffic management and urban mobility, evaluating their potential application within the City of Matlosana.
- Provide remote administrative support for traffic enforcement initiatives, including data entry, record keeping, and scheduling support.
- Participate in virtual team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on municipal goals, policies, and technological advancements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Traffic Officer or in a similar traffic management role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
