Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging and informative tours of the Nuy On The Hill estate, including vineyards, cellar, and tasting room.
- Educate visitors on the history of Nuy On The Hill, the Nuy Valley, winemaking processes, and our range of wines.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring all guests have a positive and memorable experience.
- Manage tour bookings and schedules efficiently, including remote coordination and communication.
- Develop and update tour content, narratives, and scripts to keep experiences fresh and exciting.
- Assist with the creation and delivery of virtual tours or online content for remote engagement (hybrid component).
- Handle sales of wine and merchandise following tours, accurately processing transactions.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of all tour participants.
- Collect feedback from guests to continuously improve tour quality and content.
- Maintain a professional appearance and a friendly, approachable demeanor at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Tour Guide, preferably in a wine or hospitality environment (minimum 12 months).
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and storytelling abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of Western Cape history, culture, and viticulture (wine knowledge is essential).
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written); knowledge of Afrikaans is highly advantageous.
- Basic computer literacy for scheduling and content development.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Additional language proficiency (e.g., German, French, Mandarin).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with online presentation tools or virtual tour platforms.
- Advanced wine knowledge or sommelier certification.
