Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local accounting standards.
- Manage and oversee general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide expert advice on tax planning, compliance, and reporting requirements.
- Develop and implement robust internal control systems and procedures.
- Lead and participate in audit engagements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to auditing standards.
- Advise clients on financial processes, systems improvements, and risk management.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on various client projects.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations.
Required Skills
- Chartered Accountant (CA) designation (SAICA or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years post-articles experience in a similar role within professional services or a large corporate environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in IFRS and local accounting standards.
- Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong understanding of South African tax legislation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Big Four accounting firm.
- Postgraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
