Job Description

Potch Physio is excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated and skilled Physiotherapist to join our dynamic team in a hybrid capacity. This innovative role is designed for a professional who thrives on direct patient interaction while also valuing the flexibility and efficiency offered by remote work for certain tasks. As a Hybrid Physiotherapist, you will be instrumental in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a diverse range of musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory conditions for patients of all ages. Your on-site responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive physical examinations, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering hands-on therapy, exercise prescription, and education within our state-of-the-art clinic.

The ‘hybrid’ aspect of this role allows for a portion of your weekly duties to be performed remotely. This can include, but is not limited to, conducting telehealth consultations, patient follow-up calls, managing patient records and administrative tasks, creating personalized exercise programs for remote delivery, engaging in professional development activities, and participating in virtual team meetings. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough physical assessments and evaluations to diagnose musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory conditions.
  • Develop and implement personalized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs and goals.
  • Deliver hands-on physiotherapy, including manual therapy, electrotherapy, dry needling, and exercise therapy on-site.
  • Provide patient education on injury prevention, rehabilitation exercises, and self-management strategies.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document all interactions accurately and promptly.
  • Conduct telehealth consultations and remote patient follow-ups for appropriate cases.
  • Manage patient records, billing, and other administrative tasks efficiently, with flexibility for remote completion.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and internal training sessions (some may be remote).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment.
  • Engage in community outreach or health promotion initiatives as required, potentially involving remote content creation.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy (BPhysT) or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification clinical experience in a private practice or hospital setting.
  • Proficiency in assessing and treating a wide range of conditions (musculoskeletal, sports injuries, post-operative, neurological).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using clinical management software and basic office applications.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to a hybrid work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-graduate qualification or specialization in a specific area of physiotherapy (e.g., Orthopaedics, Sports Physio, Neurological Rehab).
  • Experience with telehealth platforms and remote patient monitoring.
  • Familiarity with PRONTO or similar practice management software.
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., Afrikaans) is an advantage.
