We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hybrid CNC Machine Operator to join our dynamic team in Vereeniging. This unique hybrid role combines essential on-site machine operation with remote or office-based planning, programming review, and collaborative tasks. As a Hybrid CNC Machine Operator, you will be instrumental in the precise fabrication of steel components, working with advanced CNC machinery to produce high-quality products. Key Responsibilities
- Operate, set up, and maintain CNC machinery (e.g., lathes, mills, press brakes) for the accurate and efficient production of steel tubes and sections.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and G-code programs to determine optimal machine settings and operational sequences.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance, longevity, and minimize downtime.
- Perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure finished products meet stringent quality specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams, both on-site and remotely, to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Execute remote tasks such as production planning, program review, data analysis, and participation in virtual team meetings.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies, fostering a safe working environment.
- Load and unload materials and finished products, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Maintain accurate production records, machine logs, and quality control documentation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a CNC Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming.
- Excellent knowledge of various CNC machine tools, tooling, and materials (especially steel).
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality control standards.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer literacy for remote planning and communication tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- N3/N4 Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Experience with specific CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Haas).
