Job Description
We are seeking diligent and detail-oriented individuals to join our dynamic team as Automotive Assembly Line Workers at our state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Durban. This vital role involves performing a variety of tasks on the assembly line to construct vehicles, ensuring that all components are fitted correctly and efficiently to meet Toyota’s world-renowned quality standards. You will work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, contributing directly to the production of high-quality automobiles. Successful candidates will be trained in our stringent safety protocols and manufacturing processes, adhering to standard operating procedures to maintain an accident-free workplace and superior product output. Key Responsibilities
- Operate various hand and power tools, as well as light machinery, to assemble vehicle components according to specifications.
- Perform repetitive tasks with precision and efficiency, including fitting parts, tightening bolts, and installing interior/exterior components.
- Conduct quality checks on assembled parts and completed sections to identify and rectify any defects, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to a safe and efficient production environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily production targets and resolve any issues that arise.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen) to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety on the assembly line.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (NQF Level 4)
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks
- Basic understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced production setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly line environment, particularly in the automotive sector
- Proven ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Knowledge of basic quality control principles
