In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the discovery and development of novel therapeutic solutions across various disease areas. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled scientist to design, execute, and interpret experiments that advance our understanding of disease mechanisms and identify potential drug candidates. Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute complex in vitro and/or in vivo experiments to test scientific hypotheses and evaluate potential drug candidates.
- Develop and optimise novel assays and experimental models relevant to drug discovery and disease biology.
- Perform meticulous data analysis, interpretation, and generate comprehensive reports for internal and external communication.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including chemists, biologists, pharmacologists, and computational scientists.
- Present research findings at internal meetings, conferences, and contribute to scientific publications.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments, data, and protocols in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Stay abreast of scientific literature and emerging technologies to continuously enhance research capabilities.
- Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio by identifying and pursuing patentable inventions.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and ethical guidelines in experimental design and execution.
Required Skills
- PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Demonstrable experience (post-doctoral or industry) in pharmaceutical research or drug discovery.
- Proficiency in a range of laboratory techniques relevant to drug discovery (e.g., cell culture, molecular cloning, PCR, Western Blot, ELISA, flow cytometry).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex scientific data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present scientific findings clearly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to scientific rigor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in specific therapeutic areas such as Oncology, CVRM, or Respiratory & Immunology.
- Familiarity with automation and high-throughput screening technologies.
- Proven track record of scientific publications and presentations.
- Knowledge of GxP regulations and drug development processes.
