Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Consultant to join our dynamic team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in supporting our clients across various sectors to achieve their sustainability goals and navigate the evolving regulatory landscape. The UAE is a global leader in sustainable development initiatives, including its Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative, and our projects reflect this ambition. You will work on a diverse portfolio of projects, from large-scale urban developments and master plans to iconic buildings and infrastructure. Your expertise will be crucial in integrating environmental, social, and economic considerations into project design, construction, and operation. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, strategic thinking, and exceptional client engagement skills. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive sustainability assessments, developing tailored strategies, and providing expert advice to ensure projects align with best practices and international standards like LEED, Estidama, GSAS, and WELL. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver sustainability consulting services, including sustainable design advice, green building certifications (LEED, Estidama, GSAS, WELL), and environmental impact assessments.
- Develop and implement sustainability strategies, roadmaps, and frameworks for a diverse range of projects, from concept to completion.
- Conduct technical analyses, such as energy modeling reviews, daylighting simulations, life cycle assessments (LCA), and carbon footprinting.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and technical documentation for clients, clearly communicating complex sustainability concepts.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients and project teams on topics including energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, material selection, indoor environmental quality, and climate resilience.
- Stay abreast of the latest regional and international sustainability trends, regulations, and technologies, incorporating them into project delivery.
- Support business development activities, including preparing proposals, attending client meetings, and identifying new opportunities.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure successful project outcomes.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in sustainability consulting, preferably within the Middle East.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least two major green building rating systems (e.g., LEED AP, Estidama PQP, GSAS CGP, WELL AP).
- Strong understanding of sustainable design principles, energy performance, and environmental management systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with relevant sustainability software tools (e.g., IES-VE, Ladybug Tools, SimaPro).
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant sustainability-related discipline.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent experience.
- Experience with circular economy principles, ESG reporting, or corporate sustainability strategy development.
- Fluency in Arabic is an advantage.
- Experience in infrastructure, transport, or master planning projects.
