We are seeking an accomplished and highly skilled Barrister to join our dynamic Litigation & Dispute Resolution team in London. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented legal professional to leverage their advocacy expertise within a leading global law firm. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advising on, managing, and resolving complex commercial disputes for our diverse client base, which includes multinational corporations, financial institutions, and public sector bodies.
This Barrister role at Pinsent Masons is unique, offering the gravitas of a traditional chambers practice combined with the integrated support and collaborative environment of a large international law firm. You will be responsible for providing expert legal opinions, drafting sophisticated pleadings and submissions, and conducting advocacy in various tribunals and courts. Your work will span a broad spectrum of commercial disputes, potentially including contractual claims, professional negligence, white-collar crime, regulatory investigations, and international arbitration.
We are looking for a practitioner who is not only a formidable advocate but also a strategic thinker, capable of integrating seamlessly into our client service teams and contributing to our firm’s thought leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice and opinions on complex commercial disputes.
- Draft pleadings, witness statements, skeleton arguments, and other legal documents to the highest standard.
- Conduct advocacy in county courts, High Court, tribunals, and arbitrations.
- Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely progression and strategic resolution.
- Collaborate effectively with instructing solicitors, clients, and internal teams.
- Engage in legal research to support case strategies and advice.
- Participate in client meetings, negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and client relationship management.
- Stay abreast of developments in relevant areas of law and practice.
Required Skills
- Called to the Bar of England and Wales
- Minimum 5 years Post-Call Experience (PCE) in commercial litigation or dispute resolution
- Proven track record of successful advocacy in various judicial settings
- Exceptional legal research and analytical skills
- Superior written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong client management and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Strategic thinking and commercial acumen
- High level of professional integrity and ethical standards
