This pivotal role requires a professional to contribute significantly to the discovery, appraisal, and judicious development of hydrocarbon reservoirs situated across ADNOC’s diverse and extensive asset portfolio. The successful candidate will be instrumental in meticulously interpreting complex geological and geophysical data, developing robust and predictive subsurface models, and providing incisive geological insights to strategically optimize drilling campaigns and sustainably enhance overall reservoir performance. You will thrive within a highly integrated team comprising expert geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and drilling engineers, playing a central role in the full lifecycle management of our critical oil and gas fields. Your responsibilities will comprehensively span from conducting detailed regional geological studies to precise well planning, sophisticated petrophysical analysis, and thorough post-drilling evaluation. This presents an unparalleled opportunity to contribute to significant, high-impact projects that will indelibly shape the energy landscape of the UAE and extend its influence globally, all while working with state-of-the-art technology and a world-class team unequivocally committed to energy efficiency, environmental stewardship, and sustainable resource management. We are specifically looking for an individual who possesses an unyielding passion for geoscience, demonstrates a strong analytical mindset, and is eagerly prepared to tackle challenging geological problems in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed geological interpretation of seismic data, well logs, cores, and other subsurface information to accurately understand reservoir architecture, distribution, and fluid contacts.
  • Develop and maintain robust static geological models using industry-standard software platforms (e.g., Petrel, Gocad, OpenWorks) to support volumetric calculations and reservoir simulations.
  • Actively participate in comprehensive well planning, including precise target definition, prognosing lithologies, pore pressures, and identifying potential drilling hazards.
  • Perform in-depth petrophysical analysis to evaluate reservoir quality, delineate fluid contacts, and accurately determine hydrocarbon saturation.
  • Provide expert real-time geological supervision during drilling operations, encompassing core description, detailed mud logging interpretation, and formation evaluation.
  • Seamlessly integrate geological interpretations with geophysical and reservoir engineering data to support the formulation of field development plans and production optimization strategies.
  • Prepare comprehensive geological reports, technical presentations, and meticulous documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute significantly to complex reservoir characterization studies, quantitative uncertainty analysis, and rigorous reserves estimation processes.
  • Mentor junior geologists, fostering their professional growth and contributing to a collaborative and knowledge-sharing working environment.
  • Continuously stay updated with emerging geological concepts, innovative technologies, and industry best practices to ensure ADNOC maintains its leading edge.

Required Skills

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least 4 years (48 months) of hands-on, progressive experience as a Geologist within the Oil & Gas exploration and production (E&P) sector.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Techlog, OpenWorks, DecisionSpace Geoscience Suite).
  • Strong fundamental understanding of clastic and carbonate depositional systems and their associated petroleum geology.
  • Proven experience in well log interpretation, petrophysical analysis, and formation evaluation.
  • Familiarity with drilling operations and practical experience in geological wellsite supervision.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with an ability to synthesize complex data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Petroleum Geology, Geophysics, or a related specialized geoscience field.
  • Experience with deepwater, unconventional plays, or frontier exploration projects.
  • Advanced familiarity with geocellular modeling and volumetric calculations for resource estimation.
  • In-depth knowledge of basin analysis and regional geological studies, particularly relevant to the Middle East.
  • Demonstrated project management experience within a geological context, including timeline and resource management.

Perks & Benefits

  • Highly competitive tax-free salary package.
  • Comprehensive health and life insurance for employee and eligible family members.
  • Generous annual leave allowance and observance of public holidays.
  • Housing allowance or company-provided accommodation options.
