Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security systems for anomalies, alerts, and potential incidents using SIEM and other security tools.
  • Conduct initial analysis and triage of security incidents, escalating to senior analysts or incident response teams as necessary.
  • Participate in vulnerability management activities, including scanning, assessment, and reporting on identified vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to threat intelligence gathering and analysis to anticipate and mitigate emerging cyber risks.
  • Support security audits and compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
  • Collaborate with IT operations, network engineering, and development teams to implement robust security controls and best practices.
  • Document security incidents, investigations, and remediation efforts comprehensively and accurately.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, vulnerabilities, and defense technologies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in a cybersecurity role, ideally within a large enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including network security, application security, and data security.
  • Hands-on experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm, IBM QRadar).
  • Familiarity with intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), firewalls, anti-malware solutions, and endpoint protection.
  • Knowledge of common attack vectors, malware types, and mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and pattern recognition.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a strong advantage for automation and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, GIAC certifications like GCIH, GCIA).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Forensics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in the financial services sector or other highly regulated industries with stringent security requirements.
  • Familiarity with cloud security concepts and platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of incident response frameworks and methodologies (e.g., NIST, SANS).
