Liquid Dive Adventures, a PADI 5-Star Dive Centre in Tofo, Mozambique, is seeking a motivated and experienced Diving Instructor to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct PADI/SSI dive courses from Discover Scuba Diving up to Divemaster level, adhering strictly to standards and safety protocols.
- Lead guided dives for certified divers to various dive sites, providing thorough briefings and ensuring diver safety and enjoyment.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service, ensuring positive experiences for all guests.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain dive equipment regularly, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
- Assist with the daily operations of the dive centre, including equipment setup, tank filling, boat loading, and administrative tasks.
- Actively participate in marine conservation efforts, educating guests about local marine life and sustainable diving practices.
- Promote additional courses, specialties, and retail sales to enhance customer experience and centre revenue.
- Participate in emergency response drills and maintain readiness for any diving-related incidents.
- Work collaboratively with the dive centre team, boat crew, and management to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Required Skills
- PADI OWSI (Open Water Scuba Instructor) or SSI equivalent certification in active status.
- Minimum 24 months of active teaching experience post-certification.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to teach a diverse range of students from various backgrounds and skill levels.
- Strong understanding of dive safety procedures and emergency management.
- Proficiency in equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
- A passion for marine conservation and educating others about the underwater world.
- Valid medical statement for diving (less than 12 months old).
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialty Instructor ratings (e.g., Nitrox, Whale Shark Awareness, Manta Ray Awareness).
- Additional language proficiency (e.g., Portuguese, German, French).
- Boat handling and compressor operation experience.
- Experience working in a remote or island-based dive operation.
- EFR Instructor certification.
- Current driving license.
