Job Description

Are you a strategic procurement professional with a proven track record of driving value, optimizing supply chains, and fostering robust supplier relationships? Delta Corporation, Zimbabwe’s leading beverage manufacturer, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Procurement Manager to join our high-performing team in Harare. This critical role is central to our operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness, overseeing the acquisition of a diverse range of goods and services essential to our brewing, manufacturing, and distribution operations. As our Procurement Manager, you will be instrumental in developing and executing procurement strategies that align with Delta Corporation’s strategic objectives. You will lead a dedicated team, manage complex supplier negotiations, and ensure that all procurement activities adhere to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and ethical conduct. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive procurement strategies for various categories, including raw materials, packaging, MRO, and indirect services, to ensure cost-effectiveness and supply chain efficiency.
  • Lead the negotiation of contracts with suppliers, ensuring favourable terms, conditions, and pricing while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Manage supplier relationships, conducting regular performance reviews, and fostering long-term partnerships that drive mutual value.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and innovation within the procurement function.
  • Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, from sourcing and vendor selection to contract management and order fulfilment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies, local regulations, and international standards, including ethical sourcing and sustainability practices.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, finance, logistics, and quality assurance departments to align procurement activities with business needs.
  • Monitor market trends, supply chain risks, and emerging technologies to inform strategic procurement decisions.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in strategic procurement and supply chain management, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills with a proven track record of achieving favourable outcomes.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with a data-driven approach.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with experience in mentoring and developing staff.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain logistics, inventory management, and vendor relationship management best practices.
  • High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and commitment to corporate governance.
  • Advanced communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent.
  • Experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or beverage manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with Zimbabwean and regional supply chain networks and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven track record of driving significant cost savings and efficiency improvements in a complex operational environment.
