Are you an ambitious E-commerce Specialist passionate about driving online growth and enhancing digital customer experiences? Dunelm, the UK’s leading homewares retailer, is seeking a talented and results-driven E-commerce Specialist to join our dynamic Digital team in Leicester. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping our online presence, optimizing our digital sales channels, and delivering exceptional customer journeys.

At Dunelm, our e-commerce platform is at the heart of our strategy, enabling millions of customers to discover and purchase products that make their house a home. As an E-commerce Specialist, you will be instrumental in executing our digital strategy, focusing on product content optimization, site merchandising, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and ensuring a seamless, engaging shopping experience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product, IT, and Merchandising, to implement best practices and innovative solutions that boost online performance and achieve our ambitious commercial targets.

Your day-to-day will involve hands-on management of product listings, ensuring accuracy, richness, and searchability across our extensive catalogue. You’ll analyze website performance data, identify trends, and propose data-backed strategies to improve key metrics such as traffic, conversion rates, average order value, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of e-commerce best practices, and the ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced retail environment. You will contribute to A/B testing initiatives, user experience improvements, and the continuous evolution of our digital storefront.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize product listings, content, and imagery across the e-commerce platform to enhance searchability and customer engagement.
  • Implement and maintain site merchandising strategies, including product categorization, cross-sells, and up-sells, to maximize conversion rates and average order value.
  • Monitor website performance using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), identifying trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of A/B tests and other CRO initiatives to enhance user experience and site functionality.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams on SEO/SEM strategies, ensuring product content is optimized for organic search and paid campaigns.
  • Work closely with IT and Product teams to identify and resolve e-commerce platform issues and support the rollout of new features.
  • Analyze competitor activities and market trends to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Prepare regular reports on e-commerce performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Ensure brand consistency and adherence to e-commerce best practices across all online channels.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in an E-commerce Specialist or similar role within a retail environment.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms (e.g., Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Magento, Shopify).
  • Proficiency in web analytics tools, particularly Google Analytics.
  • Demonstrable experience with conversion rate optimization (CRO) techniques and A/B testing.
  • Solid understanding of SEO best practices and content optimization for e-commerce.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, E-commerce, or a related field.
  • Experience with PIM (Product Information Management) systems.
  • Familiarity with UX/UI principles and design thinking.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing channels beyond SEO/SEM (e.g., email marketing, social media).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced retail or homewares industry.
